About The Kreeger Museum

The Kreeger Museum occupies a travertine-clad building at 2401 Foxhall Road NW, in the Foxhall neighborhood of Northwest Washington, a short distance from Georgetown. Designed in 1963 by Philip Johnson and Richard Foster as the residence of David and Carmen Kreeger, the building opened as a museum in 1994. It sits on five and a half acres of sculpture-filled grounds, and its interior holds a permanent collection of modern art. The museum's event spaces include indoor and outdoor areas and a Great Hall with 25-foot vaulted ceilings, parquet flooring and a Concert Steinway grand piano. Facility use includes access to all public areas of the museum and its grounds. Maximum capacities are 150 guests standing, 120 seated and 100 seated lecture-style, with a staging area for catering and limited audiovisual equipment. The venue can be booked for standing receptions, seated dinners, business meetings and exchanges of vows. It is not available for wedding receptions. A list of preferred vendors is provided on request.
