About The Jewish Museum

The Jewish Museum occupies the landmarked Warburg Mansion on Museum Mile at Fifth Avenue and 92nd Street, a French-Gothic residence designed by C.P.H. Gilbert and completed in 1908. The first two floors retain carefully preserved architectural details, while the third and fourth floors hold newly renovated galleries and gathering spaces. The main private-event rooms are Scheuer Auditorium on the second floor, a flexible space with original columns, moldings and stained-glass windows that suits seated dinners, dancing with a band or DJ, and small wedding receptions; the Wilf Family Salon on the fourth floor, with Central Park views, suited to smaller cocktail parties, baby namings and private meals; the Skirball Lobby at the main entrance, which can host a standalone reception or pair with a gallery tour or a dinner in the auditorium; and the Lox restaurant space, with banquette seating and a site-specific mural by Maira Kalman, for private meals, Shabbat dinners and smaller seated parties. Standard rental packages include setup and breakdown access, security and coat-check service, museum furniture and white linens, museum admission or private access to one floor of galleries during events, and standard audiovisual equipment. Permanent collection and special exhibitions can be viewed during private events. Catering is generally arranged through Lox, which has exclusive access to the museum's kosher-certified dairy kitchen, or through another approved kosher caterer; other vendors are contracted separately. The building's main entrance, every floor and the restrooms on the fourth floor are wheelchair accessible.
