In a historic 1875 carriage house on New York’s Upper East Side, the Society of Illustrators offers gallery, library, and outdoor terrace spaces for weddings and other private events. The Main Floor Gallery accommodates up to 200 guests for cocktails, 100 for theater seating, or 70 for gala seating, and includes a stage and audiovisual equipment. The third-floor Garden Gallery accommodates up to 150 for cocktails, 80 for gala seating, or 60 for theater seating; it adjoins the 128 Bar, which has a piano and built-in sound system. The adjoining garden terrace accommodates up to 40 for cocktails or 30 for seated events and can be tented. A fourth-floor private library seats 20 and can be used as a wedding dressing room. The Lower Gallery includes a screening room that can be used for projections or converted into a photo booth or bar. Table and chair rentals are available for several seating and event formats. Pricing is available upon request, and the Society asks prospective clients to inquire with their desired space and date. Only the first-floor Main Gallery is accessible without stairs; the third-floor event space and its bathrooms require stairs. Nearby street parking is rarely available, and the Society recommends a parking garage.
