Jimmy’s Jazz & Blues Club is a wedding and private-event venue in a restored 1905 building in downtown Portsmouth, with historic brick, stained glass, wooden beams, fireplaces and steel trusses alongside modern sound, lighting and production systems. Its spaces include The Library, Elle’s Balcony & Bar, and the option of a full-venue buyout. Wedding receptions can host up to 200 guests, with an on-site ceremony for up to 140. The first-floor Gallery, with large windows, exposed brick, steel beams and rotating local art, can host intimate weddings of up to 75 or provide a separate cocktail-hour space. The Gallery is also available in full or as individual rooms; its full 4,050-square-foot space holds 200 for a reception, 168 for a banquet or 240 theater-style. The W.J. Paine room holds 100 for a reception or 84 for a banquet; the Goodman room holds 60 for a reception or 40 for a banquet; and the Atrium holds 60 for a reception or 48 for a banquet. The club provides full-service customizable Southern-influenced, New England-inspired catering, event staff, a day-of event manager, menu tasting, tables, chairs, linens, tableware, setup and breakdown, a hospitality suite, vendor referrals, and lighting and sound options. Wedding packages include five hours of event-space use, cake cutting and plating, and a one-hour open bar during the cocktail reception.
