About Waveland Golf Course
Waveland Golf Course is an 18-hole municipal golf course at 4908 University Ave in Des Moines, established in 1901 and described as the oldest municipal golf course west of the Mississippi. The course runs through rolling wooded hillsides with significant slopes. Its historic clubhouse has a stone fireplace, vaulted ceilings and rustic wood accents, and it can host parties, banquets, family celebrations and business meetings for groups of up to 100 guests. The base room rental is $150.00 per hour, plus separate custodial and setup fees, and includes setup and tear-down of tables and chairs, standard white or black tablecloths and napkins, and skirted buffet, dessert, DJ, gift and registration tables.
