Wedding venue in San Marcos, Texas

About The Charles S. Cock House Museum

The Charles S. Cock House Museum is a stone Greek Revival house erected in 1867 at 400 East Hopkins Street in San Marcos, Texas. It is the only stone residential house of that style left in the city. The house was restored by 1976 and is now a museum that displays period furniture and collectibles. Juan Veramendi Plaza Park lies behind it. The house has a front sitting porch facing East Hopkins Street, a kitchen, and three separate rooms that each seat about 12 to 16 people. Table sizes can be configured to suit an event. A seated brunch, luncheon or dinner accommodates up to 48 guests, and a move-about reception or party accommodates up to 50. The house is available to rent for small to moderate-sized private events. Documented uses include weddings, intimate wedding receptions, wedding and baby showers, birthday parties, graduation celebrations, organization luncheons, memorial gatherings and small meetings. The bathroom is handicap accessible.
