About Tailwind Acres

Tailwind Acres is a 27-acre farm in Cresco, Iowa, with a pond, a small creek, established trees, native grasses, gardens, and mowed paths through hayfields. The rural property includes an original farmhouse, a renovated 1940s dairy barn, a 500-square-foot artist studio, a guest cottage, and original farm outbuildings. The barn is offered for weddings and other large gatherings from May through October. It has 1,800 square feet upstairs and an equivalent area downstairs, with reclaimed flooring, two staircases, bistro lighting, power outlets, fans, and lighting. It is not climate controlled; rental includes use of the lawn for a tent. The henhouse is available for small gatherings such as bridal showers and work meetings, as a supplement to wedding packages. A cottage sleeps up to four, with a queen bed and loft sleeping space accessed by ladder; additional tents may be allowed for a fee.
