Buena Vista

Wedding venue in New Castle, Delaware

About Buena Vista

Buena Vista is a historic Greek Revival country estate at 661 S. DuPont Hwy in New Castle, Delaware. Statesman John Middleton Clayton built the mansion between 1845 and 1847 and named it for Zachary Taylor's success in the Mexican War. The State of Delaware acquired the property in 1965. The grounds have a bucolic setting just minutes from Route 1 and Interstate 95, yet remain close to Wilmington, Newark and New Castle, and are reached by a private road off Route 13. The house is available for private events such as weddings, baby showers, anniversaries and dinner parties. Its first and second floor rooms, including the Gathering Hall, Buck Library, Dining Room, parlors and several studies, can be configured for a formal or casual atmosphere depending on guest count. An outdoor Pole Shed can be rented on its own or together with the house and grounds. Food service is open to any licensed and insured caterer. Pricing and availability are arranged by contacting the venue directly.
