About Winthrop Carter House
Winthrop Carter House is a 22-acre historic estate in Boscawen with an 18th-century barn, a Georgian Colonial house, perennial gardens, lawns and brick patios. Couples can choose among three outdoor ceremony sites: a birch arbor between spruce trees, a meadow site with an arbor and garden backdrop, or a round moon arbor in a spruce grove. The barn serves as a reception space and features chandeliers, draping, bistro lighting, a pine bar, a rooftop deck, a lounge and three restrooms. The venue provides tables and chairs for up to 150 guests and can accommodate events up to 200 with additional tent, tables and chairs. Wedding packages include exclusive use of the barn, ceremony site, grounds and inn, a venue manager, two wedding party suites, and use of the venue for a rehearsal dinner and Sunday brunch. The inn has seven bedrooms and five bathrooms and offers lodging for up to 16 guests for three nights. Other listed amenities include parking, a fire pit, lawn games, a gas grill, a farmhouse kitchen, a butler’s pantry and a utility room with extra refrigerators, washer, dryer and prep sink.
