About The Woodland

The Woodland is a Georgian Revival mansion in the heart of Maplewood Village, completed in 1930 as a home for the Maplewood Woman's Club. Its mansion and adjoining auditorium are owned and operated by the Township of Maplewood and have long hosted cultural, civic and private gatherings. Two interior rooms are available for private events. The Great Hall is a large room with hardwood floors, a forty-foot barreled ceiling, a proscenium stage and a catering kitchen, suited to receptions and larger gatherings. The Parlor is a smaller room with original crown moldings, two decorative fireplaces, hardwood floors and a serving pantry. The two spaces can be rented together when both are available. The Parlor is air-conditioned; the Great Hall is not. The Great Hall is scheduled for renovation from December 1, 2026 through May 1, 2027. Events continue during that period with limited availability, detailed below.
