South Carolina State Museum
Wedding venue in Columbia, South Carolina
About South Carolina State Museum
The South Carolina State Museum offers wedding rentals in its historic downtown Columbia building, where original mill features meet modern design. Couples can host a ceremony, reception, or both, with spaces ranging from the outdoor Congaree Room and the lobby with its exposed brick and grand staircase to the Mezzanine, Planetarium Lobby, Upper Atrium, Vista Room, meeting rooms, and Observatory Terrace. The museum gives examples of a seated dinner for 50 and a reception for more than 1,000, but does not specify capacities for individual spaces. Its special events team assists with planning, and the museum also hosts evening receptions and daytime events.
