About Riverside Chapel
Riverside Chapel is an 1889 Gothic Revival chapel in Defiance. Built as a dignified place of rest during winter months when burial in the ground was difficult, it has stained-glass windows and historic interior woodwork. The Fort Defiance Chapter, NSDAR, oversees its restoration and upkeep, and the chapel committee hosts weddings and funerals. The chapter also opens the chapel for visitors during the annual Riverside Cemetery Walk.
