About Noah Webster House

The Noah Webster House is a National Historic Landmark in West Hartford, with a historic house built in 1747 and the Hamilton Gallery as its primary event room. The museum rents space for private gatherings, including family milestones, showers, birthdays and holiday events; it also describes a family gathering on the eve of a wedding. Indoor events can use the Hamilton Gallery and adjoining reproduction kitchen, while the West Terrace offers an outdoor option in fair weather. The Hamilton Gallery accommodates 50 seated or 75 standing, and the terrace accommodates 24 seated or 40 standing. Rental guests can arrange house tours, and the venue provides in-house tables, chairs and A/V equipment.

General facility rental fees are negotiated with a museum representative after the date and time are confirmed; no general rental amount is stated. A separate Thursday 6–8 p.m. wine-and-cheese reception and house-tour package for up to 10 guests is listed at $750 and is not a general facility rental fee. Museum members receive 10% off facility rentals; nonprofits may qualify for special pricing on certain days and times. Discounts do not apply to the Thursday package.
