Museum of Chinese in America

About Museum of Chinese in America

The Museum of Chinese in America is located at 215 Centre Street in New York's Chinatown. It is open to the public Wednesday through Sunday and presents its core exhibition, With a Single Step: Stories in the Making of America, along with rotating exhibitions. The museum rents its spaces for private events, meetings, and celebrations, and a booking can include any or all of its spaces. Private event guests have access to the permanent collection and special exhibitions during the rental. The event spaces are set in a striking building that blends a modern aesthetic with an industrial, historic atmosphere. They include an East West Lobby with a bronze monument dedicated to Chinese American families, a triple-height courtyard with exposed brick walls and natural light, a Cultural Programs Center with floor-to-ceiling windows, and a cellar classroom with sound and projection. The spaces suit cocktail receptions, seated dinners, lectures, and workshops, and the lobby has the largest recommended reception capacity.
