About James H. McBride Arboretum
The James H. McBride Arboretum is a 250-acre natural area on the BGSU Firelands campus in Huron, Ohio, developed in partnership with Erie Metroparks. The arboretum features over 200 species of native flowers, trees, and shrubs, restored prairie plots, landscaped gardens, and a half-mile asphalt walking path around Parker Lake, with additional trails along Sawmill Creek. A notable feature is the Mary Sue Bork-Young Labyrinth, a walking meditation path. The arboretum is available for event hosting, including weddings, with outdoor spaces set amidst the gardens and natural landscape. Event management services are provided by BGSU Firelands.
