Set on 590 acres of former farmland in Pleasant Valley, James Baird State Park has a scenic, mostly flat 18-hole golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones. Wedding ceremonies can be held at the park’s pergola by reservation. Two shelters are available for daily reservation, with capacities of 200 and 250; picnic areas also offer open or wooded settings, tables and charcoal grills. JB’s Bar and Grill, in the clubhouse overlooking the course, offers breakfast, lunch and dinner, with indoor dining and an outdoor patio with fire pits. Dining and catering options are available, and catering can be arranged in the park’s large tent and pavilion areas or off site. Park amenities include a driving range, pro shop, snack bar, playground, sports facilities and seven miles of marked trails. The park is open daily from sunrise to sunset; golf course operation is seasonal and weather dependent.
