About Hotel del Coronado

Hotel del Coronado occupies 28 oceanfront acres on Coronado Island, just across San Diego Bay from downtown San Diego. The original hotel opened in 1888 and is a National Historic Landmark designated in 1977. A six-year restoration and revitalization of more than $550 million was completed in June 2025, restoring the Victorian building, its guest rooms and its event rooms. The resort's private section of Coronado Beach, Main Beach and North Beach, hosts ceremonies and receptions on the sand. Indoor event rooms are in the restored Victorian building, the Southpointe Event Center, Founders Hall and The Cabanas. In the Victorian, the Crown Room (9,300 sq ft) has crown chandeliers and a wood-domed ceiling, the Coronet Room (3,705 sq ft) has a vaulted wooden ceiling, and the Ocean Ballroom (12,600 sq ft) has crystal chandeliers, a built-in stage and Pacific views as the only oceanfront room in the Victorian. The Carousel Room (6,241 sq ft) is a circular room with 12 columns. The Southpointe Ballroom is a 15,130-square-foot clear-span room with vaulted ceilings and about 10,000 square feet of pre-function and breakout space; it is the resort's largest indoor room, seating up to 1,500 theatre-style. Founders Ballroom (11,571 sq ft) and the Cabana Ballroom (3,872 sq ft) add larger and mid-sized options. Outdoor settings include Main Beach (7,590 sq ft) and North Beach (70,000 sq ft), where North Beach is the largest outdoor venue at up to 1,500 guests. Windsor Lawn (16,390 sq ft) overlooks the Pacific in front of the Victorian building and is listed for up to 700 guests. Southpointe Lawn (14,040 sq ft), The Garden courtyard (10,764 sq ft), Vista Terrace (12,648 sq ft), Paseo Lawn (4,452 sq ft) and the shaded Founders Lawn beneath Norfolk Island pines complete the outdoor options. Beach weddings can include fireworks, live bandstands, beach games and a custom sandcastle, and ceremonies can take place in the Crown Room or a ballroom with a casual beach option. Weddings are handled by dedicated event specialists who arrange custom packages, site visits and vendor coordination. Couples can choose a curated menu or a custom menu from the resort's chefs, or use outside catering packages. Onsite audio-visual services are provided by Encore. Wedding venue inclusions cover a bridal dressing room, a groom's finishing room, a ceremony sound system, white outdoor chairs, reception tables with house linens, a custom-sized dance floor and an inclement-weather backup. Guest rooms are in three neighborhoods: The Victorian (rooms in the original 1888 building, no two alike), The Views (beachfront rooms and suites, some with a terrace and fire pit) and The Cabanas (modern rooms near the central pool and Sun Deck). Onsite dining includes Nobu Del Coronado, Serẽa, Veranda and Sun Deck, and the Spa & Salon offers treatments with access to an ocean-view spa pool.
