About Helen Mills Event Space and Theater

HELEN MILLS occupies a street-level, 4,000-square-foot loft in Chelsea, Manhattan, at 137-139 West 26th Street, with an adjoining 140-seat theater on the level below. The event space has a 37-foot hand-crafted bar and a flexible layout that can be customized to a host's décor and theme. Its in-house sound, lighting and projection systems are available, and the loft and theater can be rented separately or together for multi-stage events, panel discussions or breakout sessions. The event space supports cocktail receptions for up to 300 guests, while the theater seats up to 140 for theater-style programs or at rounds and up to 80 in classroom style. Bar and bat mitzvah celebrations are held here: the theater is used for ceremonies, and mitzvah celebrations of up to 160 guests can include a dance floor, a DJ setup, games and catering. The venue also hosts corporate meetings, product launches, screenings, panels and fundraisers. Food and beverage service includes a full bar with premium brands, local craft beer and specialty cocktails, with a champagne toast available as an add-on. Outside licensed caterers and food trucks are welcome, and a list of preferred caterers is available. Furniture and décor are included with rentals, and both levels are ADA compliant with street-level access. Rental fees vary by space, event length, and A/V, bar and staffing needs.
