Dunes Pavilion Events is a lakeside event venue located on the second floor of the Dunes Pavilion building in Chesterton, Indiana, overlooking the Indiana Dunes Lakeshore. The venue offers panoramic views and hosts weddings, ceremonies, receptions, rehearsal dinners, bridal showers, corporate events, and private gatherings. The main event space comfortably seats 150 guests with a dance floor and has a maximum capacity of 175. A dividing wall can create two smaller spaces, each with a maximum capacity of 75. Outdoor ceremonies are held on a patio on the east side of the building; ceremonies on the sand require a separate permit from the Indiana DNR. The rental period is 12:00 pm to 12:00 am, with an option to add hours from 10:00 am. During peak season (Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend), events cannot start before 6:00 pm. The venue is handicap accessible via elevator. Parking is available in the main lot on a first-come, first-served basis; guests’ vehicles may remain overnight. An in-house caterer provides appetizers, dinner, late-night snacks, and desserts; outside caterers are not permitted, but wedding cakes and desserts from licensed bakeries are allowed. The rental includes an on-site venue coordinator, setup and teardown of tables and chairs, table linens, colored napkins, and dinnerware and glassware. Décor restrictions prohibit real flames, tape or adhesive on walls/floors, helium balloons, confetti, glitter, sparklers, and similar items. No outside alcohol is allowed. A 2% State Park Fee is added to the total, which allows event attendees to enter the park without paying the gate fee.
