The flowers on the cake
The baker asks what’s going on the cake. “Whatever’s left from the bouquets.”
The question
The baker asks what flowers are going on the cake. You say: whatever’s left over from the bouquets, the florist can tuck them in. Fine?
- Fine. They’re flowers. They’re pretty.
- No. The cake flowers are their own order: named, grown without pesticides, and the florist tells the baker exactly what they are and how they’re sealed.
