About Waterfront Botanical Gardens

Waterfront Botanical Gardens is an urban garden just east of downtown Louisville, with landscaped grounds, outdoor plazas, and the Graeser Family Education Center. Weddings and other private events can use indoor and outdoor spaces. The Education Center has glass exterior walls and a patio overlooking Beargrass Creek. Outdoors, the West Plaza has a Water Wall and Louisville skyline views; the South Plaza is beside the center, with downtown views and building access. Both plazas can accommodate large tents. The grounds include the Helen Harrigan Garden, Mary Lee Duthie Garden, educational and edible gardens, native and pollinator plantings, an evergreen tapestry, entry gardens, a plaza fountain, and the Beargrass Creek Pathway with a waterfall. The Gardens is developing a bonsai garden and house, Tree Allée, creek overlook, and additional pathway as part of Phase 2A. Free guest parking is available in a paved and gravel lot outside the Education Center, with accessible parking. The Beargrass Creek Pathway is paved and ADA accessible. Weddings and private events can be arranged through the venue’s rental inquiry form, and the Gardens works with approved caterers and bar-service vendors.
