About Walnut Grove Event Center

Walnut Grove Event Center is set on 60 acres of grounds in Lathrop, about 35 minutes from Kansas City. The indoor barn event space has tall ceilings, bistro lighting, and a flexible 60-by-90-foot layout; the grounds offer outdoor ceremony settings, including the lawn, walnut grove, lakeside, and field backdrops. Couples can also hold ceremonies indoors, with a room change typically needed before the reception. A covered 26-by-50-foot patio and 120-foot front porch add outdoor gathering space. The venue seats up to 300 guests and provides get-ready rooms with private bathrooms, a prep kitchen, two indoor/outdoor bars, and tables and chairs. Indoor spaces have heat and air conditioning. Other amenities include accessible bathrooms, an 84-inch TV, sound system, parking attendants, guest shuttle service, and event security. Couples may bring their own food and choose their vendors; alcohol service has venue-specific restrictions. Rental packages include tables, chairs, linens, and access to the decoration closet.
