The Toledo Zoo & Aquarium offers wedding ceremonies in its Formal Gardens, an outdoor setting with landscaped grounds and seasonal availability from May through September. A ceremony package is available only with a reception package and includes venue rental, setup and teardown, grey chairs, an indoor rain plan and rehearsal; dressing rooms for the couple are subject to availability. Reception venues include the Malawi Event Center, set within the Africa! exhibit with an indoor fish tank backdrop; the Great Hall in the ProMedica Museum of Natural History, with a dance floor, sound system and adjacent greenhouse and prairie photo backdrops; the Aquarium, surrounded by marine exhibits and offering a stingray touch tank during cocktail hour; the Atrium in the Reptile House, with underwater crocodile viewing and a private outdoor patio; and the Arctic Encounter, which offers buffet service only. Each listed reception location has lighting and sound. The Zoo’s catering team provides buffet or served dinners, appetizers and bar service, with equipment and other upgrades available. Weddings are not held during Lights Before Christmas.
