About The Wimbish House

The Wimbish House is a restored Victorian-era home in Midtown Atlanta, completed in 1906 and designated a national, state and city landmark. Its historic architecture, period furnishings, hardwood floors, tall archways, columns, chandeliers and fireplaces provide a setting for weddings and events. Reception rooms connect with the dining room, sunroom and ballroom. The house accommodates up to 200 for a ceremony and reception, or up to 250 for a reception only. Reception seating is limited to 150 people in the ballroom; larger receptions can use seating throughout the house, and events above 160 guests may use partial seating and food stations. Wedding ceremonies held there include a one-hour rehearsal, subject to availability. A day-of coordinator is required for weddings. Event rentals include on-site security and an attendant, tables and chairs, two grand pianos, and audiovisual equipment with speakers, a projector, screen and two wireless microphones. Events serving food must use an approved full-service caterer; clients may provide their own alcohol subject to the venue’s service and insurance rules. The venue offers up to four driveway spaces for VIP vehicles and up to six vendor spaces in the alley. Nearby parking, hotels and public transportation are available.

Wedding rental fees vary by day and event format: Saturday and holiday-weekend rates are $7,450 for reception only and $7,950 for ceremony and reception; Friday and Sunday rates are $6,050 and $6,550; Monday through Thursday rates are $5,050 and $5,550. Each includes a $500 refundable damage deposit. January and February facility rates are discounted 10%; military, first responders, and approved charitable organizations may qualify for discounts or reduced rates. Wedding coordination service is $1,250; a day-of coordinator is required.
