About The Laboratory Mill

The Laboratory Mill is a historic, climate-controlled venue beside the South Fork River, with waterfront views and landscaped grounds. Its 20,000-square-foot venue includes indoor spaces and two ceremony locations: the belfry wing and the card room. The upper floor has adjoining ceremony and reception areas that can be opened into one continuous space. The venue offers capacity for 475 guests seated at reception tables; combined weddings and receptions can accommodate 275 without a room transition, or up to 350 with staff changing the setup. The lower-wing Cardroom is used for smaller weddings and on-site rehearsal dinners. Venue rentals include tables, chairs, tablecloths, setup, a one-hour photo session, a golf-cart shuttle and early access. Other amenities include two dressing areas, a large bar area, two caterer prep areas with commercial refrigerators, a lighted parking lot with attendants, indoor bathrooms and wheelchair accessibility. Couples may choose from preferred caterers or, for an additional fee, use a licensed and insured outside caterer. Bar packages are available. All-inclusive options add catering, florals, DJ services and month-of coordination. Nearby lodging options are in Lincolnton, Dallas and Hickory.
