About The Hollywood Museum

The Hollywood Museum occupies the restored Historic Max Factor Building at 1660 N. Highland Avenue at Hollywood Boulevard. The Hollywood Regency Art Deco building was designed by S. Charles Lee and houses four levels of exhibit space, including a lower level that was once a bowling alley and a Prohibition-era speakeasy. The historic lobby, which adjoins Max Factor's restored makeup rooms, features period chandeliers and an open area for mingling with food and beverage service. Private event spaces include the lobby (20–200 guests), a 40-guest party elevator that can be set with a cocktail bar, a 40-seat screening room, a historic photo gallery for 20–60 guests, exhibit floors for 130–200 guests each, a lower level for 120–140 guests, and the fourth-floor Penthouse Ballroom, which seats 300, holds 650 for a cocktail reception, or 400 theater-style. The ballroom has a stage, podium, dance floor, lounge furnishings and a prep kitchen. The museum offers turn-key private events for corporate, personal and fundraising celebrations, with an optional living red carpet. Its preferred caterer, Someone's in the Kitchen, plans food, beverage and décor. Formats include formal sit-down dinners, cocktail parties, receptions and buffet stations, with beverage bars placed throughout, and the museum holds a liquor license. Entertainment can be arranged from its database or through a vendor of the client's choice, and guests may be photographed with the exhibits. In-house equipment includes eight 60-inch flat-screen TVs with DVD playback, dining tables, chairs and high-top tables. Wifi and basic AV are provided, with vendor referrals for additional needs. The building has ramps and elevator access and is ADA accessible. Whole-museum or selected-area rentals are available. Valet and self-parking are arranged through the adjacent lot.
