About The Barn at Mabee Farm (Schenectady County Historical Society)
The Barn at Mabee Farm is a wedding venue on the Mohawk River, on the grounds of a private 1705 farmstead. The 1760s Dutch Barn features original post-and-beam construction and soaring ceilings, with gardens, woodland paths, and an apple orchard among the outdoor settings. Couples can hold ceremonies by a riverfront arbor, beneath an oak, in the orchard, or near seasonal wildflowers, and use the barn for their celebration. Weddings are DIY: couples select their caterer, drinks, music, and décor. The barn and grounds are available for events from May through October, with a maximum event capacity of 140 guests, subject to setup. The rental includes exclusive access to the barn and restrooms on the wedding day, grounds access for the ceremony and photographs, setup access the preceding day, and cleanup access the following morning. The site may remain open to visitors during normal business hours.

- For 2026 and beyond, the $2,300 rental includes Friday setup (2–8 p.m.), Saturday access (10 a.m.–11 p.m.), and Sunday cleanup (10 a.m.–noon). A refundable $500 cleaning deposit is added. Additional tent days cost $100 per day, deducted from the cleaning deposit. A $1,150 nonrefundable deposit is due at booking; final payment is due at least 30 days before the rental. A Sunday site fee of $25 per hour applies when the site is closed.
