The Suffolk County Vanderbilt Museum & Reichert Planetarium occupies the 43-acre waterfront Eagle’s Nest estate in Centerport. Its setting brings together a historic Spanish Revival mansion, marine and natural-history museum, planetarium, park, grounds and gardens. The mansion began as a cottage in 1910 and developed into a 24-room residence, with a central courtyard and Samuel Yellin ironwork.
