The Semler family has owned and run the ranch since 1978. The land has a history that the venue traces back to a Spanish land grant, and it has been used as a film and television location since the 1930s. The ranch has hosted celebrity weddings with an emphasis on privacy and security. Hillside estate vineyards on the property produce wines labeled with the Saddlerock-Malibu appellation.
