About Promont Museum

Promont Museum, operated by the Greater Milford Area Historical Society, is an 1865 Italianate Victorian mansion in Milford, Ohio, formerly the home of Governor John M. Pattison. The house retains its original four-floor layout with a central hall and two connecting rooms per floor, wide eaves, decorative quoins, and a recently renovated tower with panoramic views. Inside, vaulted ceilings and intricate woodwork create an intimate setting for small gatherings; outside, a wooded lot with an elegant gazebo can accommodate larger events. The venue is offered for weddings, bridal showers, afternoon teas, corporate meetings, and similar private events, with docent-led museum tours available during events with advance notice. GMAHS members receive a discount on the house rental fee. The property also includes a reference library and gift shop. Public docent-led tours are held on the first, third, and fifth Sundays of each month from 1 to 4 PM.
