About Powell Event Center
The Powell Event Center is a dedicated event facility on Goodfellow Air Force Base in Texas. Its two ballrooms can be combined to seat up to 200 guests or booked separately for up to 100 each, and a separate Texas Star Room holds up to 50. The center also has a billiards area, a patio, a community area with gaming stations and musical equipment, and a full bar with a patio and high-top tables. The bar holds over 100 guests with its partition closed and up to 300 when an attached ballroom is also reserved. An outdoor space with a fire pit is included, and the rooms have audio and visual capabilities. The facility is offered for official functions, private events and morale gatherings for the base community. The center provides tables and chairs, and booking hosts set up and tear down their own event. Bookings are first come, first served, and planning is recommended 60 days ahead for the ballrooms and 30 days ahead for the Texas Star Room. Catering items such as plates, napkins, silverware and tablecloths must be supplied by the host unless ordered through the center.
