Old Peace Chapel

Wedding venue in Defiance, Missouri

About Old Peace Chapel

The Old Peace Chapel stands in the historic village at The Historic Daniel Boone Home, a park in Defiance, Missouri, on nearly 300 acres in the Femme Osage Valley. The village is a reconstructed group of more than a dozen 19th-century buildings, and the chapel is its centerpiece. The chapel was built in New Melle in the 1800s, where it first served as a general store and dance hall. A German Evangelical congregation later remodeled it into a church, and it was moved to the Boone site in 1983. Guests can admire its craftsmanship and the pipe organ that plays from the overhead balcony. The chapel is a popular venue for weddings.
