The National Museum of the Marine Corps sits on a 135-acre site in Triangle, Virginia, adjacent to Marine Corps Base Quantico and about 36 miles south of Washington, D.C. Its roughly 240,000-square-foot building takes its soaring form from the flag-raising image at Iwo Jima, and Semper Fidelis Memorial Park is located next to the Museum. Leatherneck Gallery, the central gallery, rises beneath a 210-foot stainless steel spire and has five aircraft suspended overhead; it is one of the spaces used for military ceremonies and events. Reception options include the Tun Tavern Backroom, Corsair Overlook, and the Medal of Honor Second Deck Lobby. The Semper Fidelis Memorial Chapel and Medal of Honor Theater can host ceremonies by inquiry, and after-hours receptions or dinners can be arranged in Corsair Overlook, Tun Tavern, Devil Dog Diner, and the Medal of Honor Second Deck Lobby.
