About Mount Salem Vineyards

Mount Salem Vineyards is an estate vineyard and winery on Mount Salem Road near Pittstown in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. The restored 1811 Wine Barn, moved closer to the vineyard, serves as the winery and includes a loft visitors can visit. The farmstead's 1811 farmhouse is part of the property, and the dry-farmed vineyard sits at 700 feet on a gentle south-by-southwest slope. Private events on the farmstead can be a wine tasting with or without a food pairing, a lunch or dinner with wine, a cooking class with a wine pairing, or a luncheon or dinner the group plans and cooks for up to 30 guests, with the winery supporting the event including cleanup. Events can be held any day of the week, in the morning, afternoon or evening. The winery lists marriage, birthday, anniversary and retirement celebrations, family reunions and business gatherings among the occasions it hosts. The vineyard also hosts LongTable, a harvest supper for 100 guests seated at one long table in the vineyard. Guests make every dish, and each includes at least one locally grown ingredient. The site describes a culinary repertoire that includes Italian, French, Austrian, Polish, American Creole and Thai cooking.
