About Lower Adirondack Regional Center for History (LARCH)

The Hancock House is a four-story museum in Ticonderoga, New York, presenting the history of the Lower Adirondacks, Lake Champlain and Lake George regions. Built in 1925 and opened to the public in 1926, the Georgian Revival building represents John Hancock's 1737 Boston home and is constructed of Weymouth granite block. Its exhibits cover colonial decorative arts and furnishings, the Abenaki longhouse, Rogers' Rangers, the Howe family, New York's canals, the Merino wool industry, Revolutionary-era figures, and American folk art. The house is available for small gatherings such as showers, receptions and meetings, and for wedding photo opportunities. Events are held in the lower-level program room, and arrangements are made by calling the museum.
