About Little Thompson Valley Pioneer Museum

The Pioneer Courtyard is an outdoor wedding and event space on the grounds of the Little Thompson Valley Pioneer Museum. The 1893 Bimson Stone Shop, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, borders the courtyard to the west; the 1940 Elmer Carlson Building, now a museum annex, borders it to the east. Other features around the courtyard include the 1902 Bimson barn and its stage, a windmill, the 1916 Meadow Hollow School, a replica Bunyan Observatory, and the 1864 Charles Meining cabin. Prairie-style borders of native grasses and wildflowers run through the grounds.
