Lawrence County Historical Society

Wedding venue in New Castle, Pennsylvania

About Lawrence County Historical Society

The Society rents its historic Greer mansion, the Joseph A. Clavelli History Center, for small weddings and other private events. Built in 1904–05 as a Colonial Revival residence, the 19-room mansion is furnished with antiques and features stained glass, Greek columns, paneled woodwork, and built-in cupboards. The first floor includes a foyer, dining room, library, and drawing room; the second floor has rotating county history exhibits. The front porch and lawn are also used for public gatherings. The Medure History Annex is a separate building on the Society’s site, not a room in the mansion.
