About Howland Farm

Set on roughly 200 acres in the rolling hills of Upstate New York, Howland Farm offers a historic Event Barn and outdoor ceremony sites among open lawns, distant hill views, a stream, mature trees, and a certified butterfly garden. Opening the barn doors connects its interior with the outdoors for indoor/outdoor gatherings. The barn includes accessible bathrooms, a dance floor, a bar, furniture, and event supplies; it can seat 70 guests. Outdoor events require an inclement-weather plan, with options including rearranging the barn or using a tent alongside it. Event rentals include the Event Barn and three nights in the Guest House for up to 12 overnight guests. The five-bedroom house has three full bathrooms and three covered porches overlooking the farm. Tables, chairs, decorations, and other supplies are available, and linens can be provided for a cleaning fee. Tours are available by appointment. Quiet hours run from 11 p.m. to 8 a.m.; clients are responsible for meeting New York State requirements for serving alcohol. The barn has supplemental heaters from April through November and is uninsulated, while the Guest House is available year-round. Small parties of up to 20 visitors may use the Guest House with prior approval.
