About Historical Society of Western Virginia

The Roanoke History & O. Winston Link Museums share the former Norfolk & Western Railway Passenger Station at 101 Shenandoah Avenue NE in downtown Roanoke, across the street from Hotel Roanoke. Industrial designer Raymond Loewy redesigned the station in 1949, and its historic lobby has been restored to reflect that renovation, with natural light and open, clean-lined space. The building offers two rentable settings for receptions, corporate gatherings, and special celebrations: the passenger station lobby, which can accommodate dancing and guest seating, and the Trackside Lobby & Theater inside the museum, which has a high-ceilinged gallery suited to receptions and a theater for presentations.
