About Historic St. Mary's City

Historic St. Mary's City is an outdoor living-history and archaeology museum on the site of Maryland's first capital, spread across more than 800 acres of farmland, waterways, and reconstructed historic sites. For weddings, the reconstructed State House offers an indoor setting, while outdoor areas overlooking the St. Mary's River provide a tented option. The State House accommodates 90–140 guests depending on use and table setup; the outdoor areas can accommodate 500 or more with tents. The venue plans for inclement weather, which may include moving a ceremony inside the State House or beneath a tent.
