About Hedges Chapel
Hedges Chapel is a historic, one-room wooden church on a small hill in western Berkeley County, overlooking a country road and its cemetery. The chapel retains its original 1850 pews and has electric lighting, overhead fans, baseboard heat, heat pumps with air conditioning, a Roland keyboard and a modern sound system. The chapel is available for weddings and other ceremonies, with capacity for 80 people. The adjacent fellowship hall and covered pavilion can host receptions; the hall seats up to 60, and pavilion picnic tables accommodate 72 or more. The hall has accessible restrooms, a fully equipped kitchen without a dishwasher, and movable tables and chairs. Rental parties are responsible for cleanup and trash removal; alcohol is prohibited in the hall and pavilion, and outside grills are permitted but not supplied.
