About Guthrie County Historical Village and Museum

The Guthrie County Historical Village and Museum is a four-acre site on Panora’s southwest side near the Middle Raccoon River and Lenon Mill Park. Its ten buildings, exhibits, and artifacts focus on Guthrie County history from 1850 through the early 20th century. The site’s gardens and historic buildings also provide a setting for wedding photography. The 1913 New Bethel Church is available to rent year-round, weather permitting, for weddings and other events. It seats 50 and has air conditioning for summer events; it has no heat, though portable heaters may be used. The church includes historic pews, a 1913 upright piano, a pump organ, and deacon chairs. A memorial garden surrounds its entrance. Museum restrooms are available for guests and can also be used as dressing rooms, and a staff member is on duty during events. Parking is available in two lots beside the village and on the street.
