About Fort Ligonier

Fort Ligonier is a reconstructed 18th-century British fort on an eight-acre historic site in the town of Ligonier, Pennsylvania, along the Laurel Highlands Scenic Byway and about 50 miles from Pittsburgh. The fort grounds include the Lower Fort Area and the Upper Fort Parade Ground, and the museum's historic buildings and outside patio are also used for private gatherings. Private events are hosted in the Center for History Education, which provides 5,277 square feet of inside event space with an elevated stage and audiovisual equipment including wireless microphones, a projector and a screen. Documented seating in the Center is 130 guests banquet style, 140 classroom style, 250 theater style and 300 for a cocktail reception. Capacities for other areas of the fort and museum are available on request. Hosts may choose a caterer from the fort's list of preferred purveyors or request approval for another caterer. Alcohol may be served when hosts supply their own spirits, use a RAMP-certified bartender and provide a certificate of liability insurance. Parking includes free on-site spaces for about 50 vehicles, a metered lot across from the fort and onsite motorcoach parking. The museum and Center for History Education are wheelchair accessible.
