About East River 9

East River 9 is a nine-hole, par-3, links-style golf course in Houston's Midway area, part of the East River development on the northern bank of Buffalo Bayou, within about a mile of Downtown Houston. Two staggered tee boxes feed all nine greens, and LED lights allow evening play. The property also has a 300-yard grass driving range with 30 hitting bays and six lighted pickleball courts. Birdies Icehouse, at 65 Hirsch Rd, is a restaurant and patio bar with indoor and outdoor space. It serves burgers, tacos, cocktails and beer, with breakfast on weekends, and hosts live music on Friday and Saturday evenings on a raised stage pergola. For private and group events, the property offers about 25,000 square feet of event space that can be booked as individual areas or combined. Spaces include Birdies Icehouse, a covered patio, Sunset, a breezeway, the raised stage pergola, a south side terrace and a lakeside pavilion. Groups from 20 to more than 3,000 guests are accommodated. Events include corporate outings, fundraisers, bachelor and bachelorette parties, rehearsal dinners, graduations, birthdays and other milestone celebrations. Reservations for 20 or more guests are made by inquiry.
