About Cohen Bray House

Cohen Bray House is an 1884 Stick-style Victorian house in Oakland's Fruitvale district, built as a wedding gift on the Oak Tree Farm estate and still furnished with its original 1884 interiors and contents. The house has 17 rooms and five fireplaces, with ornately carved curly redwood paneling, pocket doors, stained glass, and original wallpapers and carpeting. Rooms at the rear were remodeled in the Craftsman style after the 1906 earthquake. A half-acre garden surrounds the property, with native and fruit trees, and the back yard is used for events. Guided tours of the house are offered, along with private teas and tours. The house also hosts outdoor receptions and other private group bookings. Tea-and-tour events include a tea of savories and sweets served in the formal dining room, and a gift shop is open during tours.
