Christ Our Shepherd Center

About Christ Our Shepherd Center

Christ Our Shepherd Center is a diocesan retreat and conference facility on wooded grounds just off Route 30 near Greensburg, Pennsylvania, owned and operated by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Greensburg. The campus developed from a former country estate purchased in 1961. Renovated buildings are largely connected under one roof, and the gymnasium and outdoor grounds are nearby. Meeting rooms range from the Parlor, which seats up to 18 and has chestnut paneling and a gas log fireplace, to the Westmoreland Room, which seats up to 150 theater-style or 190 at round tables and can be divided into two smaller rooms. Meeting spaces have internet access, projection equipment and monitors, and the larger rooms have built-in sound systems. The main dining room, a glass-walled room, seats up to 190 at round tables, and the Plaza Room seats up to 70. In-house food service is offered for smaller groups, and outside caterers with linked menus serve larger banquets. The St. Joseph Chapel, with a pew capacity of 322, can double as conference space and opens onto an outdoor plaza with tables, chairs and a fountain for warm-weather gatherings. Lodging includes dormitory-style rooms with wireless internet, central air conditioning and linens provided, along with suites with private baths and nine rooms and suites in the Stone House. Groups can also use the gymnasium, an outdoor play field and walking trails on the grounds. Parish members may hold Matrimony celebrations here with pastor verification of the sacrament, and the center also hosts diocesan programs, retreats and meetings.
