About Chihuahuan Desert Nature Center & Botanical Gardens
Set in the foothills of the Davis Mountains, the Chihuahuan Desert Nature Center occupies a 507-acre landscape of semi-desert grasslands and igneous rock outcrops. The property includes more than five miles of hiking trails, botanical gardens, a cactus collection, exhibits, and viewpoints; Modesta Canyon has a year-round spring, while Clayton’s Overlook offers views across the area. The Nature Center offers settings for weddings, rehearsal dinners, family reunions, and other special events. Prospective clients are invited to make an appointment to see the available settings. The site also has a pavilion for large groups, picnic space on the Powell Visitor Center porch, and visitor-center facilities.
