About Camden Amphitheatre
Camden Amphitheatre is a public outdoor garden amphitheatre on the grounds of Camden Public Library. Designed by landscape architect Fletcher Steele and built between 1928 and 1931, its landscape combines Neoclassical and French Moderne influences with the Maine setting. Fieldstone, brick, grass, native trees and shrubs, and wrought iron rails, light standards, gates and arches shape the grounds. The amphitheatre is available to rent for outdoor events, including weddings.
