Burchfield Penney Art Center

Wedding venue in Buffalo, New York

About Burchfield Penney Art Center

Located in Buffalo’s Elmwood Avenue museum district on the Buffalo State University campus, the Burchfield Penney Art Center offers indoor event spaces and an outdoor terrace beside its second-floor reception area. The Center explicitly offers wedding receptions and ceremonies, with gallery access, guided tours, event planning, audiovisual support and catering partners available. Its reception area accommodates up to 125 for a seated dinner or 250 standing; the adjacent terrace has smaller capacities and is weather-dependent, with staff deciding whether it can be used. The auditorium, boardroom and classroom offer additional event settings. Catering must be provided by a licensed caterer approved by Buffalo State University. Parking is available in the university lot in front of the Center, and the venue provides wheelchair reservations and an auditorium loop system for compatible hearing aids.
