About Buckhannon Opera House
The Opera House is a full-service catering facility and entertainment venue in historic downtown Buckhannon, occupying three connected historic buildings. The first floor was opened up in the 1930s to house a G.C. Murphy five-and-ten store, which operated there until the 1980s. The space has since been converted into an event center with 100-year-old hardwood floors, coffered ceilings, exposed brick, and colorful lighting. The main room seats up to 200 guests for dinner and includes an elevated stage for entertainment and a bar. A green room off the stage has a full bath, a wet bar and a makeup table. The in-house catering team offers options for luncheons, formal dinners, meetings and other gatherings. Parties and events are booked through the venue, with availability and menu options provided on inquiry.
